Cold Steel® has been a long-time believer in the ruthless cutting power of a well-designed Viking axe. In the past, the company lacked the technical ability to make one to its satisfaction. However, with Cold Steel®'s new state-of-the-art forging facility, it is now possible to offer something truly exceptional.
The Cold Steel® Viking Great Axe is formidably long and its thin blade is hand-sharpened to an incredible edge. It comes with a robust 25 cm (10 in.) cutting surface that terminates in two sharp horns or points. Traditionally, the longer top point was used for stabbing, gouging or parrying, while the slightly shorter bottom point was used to capture an opponent's shield or to hook and immobilize his neck, arms or legs.
To maximize leverage, strength and dexterity of movement, the Viking Great Axe is equipped with a very strong, resilient shaft. Made in Maine from the best American hickory available, it enhances and amplifies this Viking axe's exceptional potential as a cutting and chopping tool.
